Thank You

There are many things that I am thankful for, and one of them being, my husband's persistence and patience. After three nights of searching for a new, free of course-this is Don after all, blog design, he came up with this one. Not so bad. Thanks Don, I owe you one.
No girls, not one of those.

Did I Hear That Right?

Recently, I heard someone make the funniest comment. What makes it classic is that the comment was made in complete seriousness. Not intended as a joke. Just made as observation about the situation.

On Satuday night, at their baby shower, Chuck and Tim were presented with two T-shirts. These shirts were meant to be worn during the shower, and to party in afterward. But all night they both avoided the shirts. You would have thought Rush Limbaugh himself were holding the shirts, waiting, just waiting, for them to walk over and take them from his grip.
The shirts said, "I'm Chuck's / I'm Tim's Baby Daddy".
They couldnt bring themselves to put them on, and in a weak moment they were foced to put them on and smile for the camera. After the picture, as they were quickly disrobing, I said to someone, "Maybe they don't want to advertise outside that they are gay men adopting a child."
I was, quite matter of factly, told that,
"Oh no honey, it's the glitter puff paint. It's like cryptonite to a gay man."

"Nothing"

"Nothing!"
-Annaliese responds to the question, "What are you thankful for?".

This response was told to her mother directly before Annaliese had a bath, ate a nutritious and warm dinner, was read a Thanksgiving book by her father, and hugged and kissed before getting into a clean bed, where she could sleep in safety without interuption.

However,in her defense, this response was told to her mother directly after she found out her brother had glow-in-the-dark pajama's.

How Could I Forget!?

I was blabbing on and on about myself, of course this is my blog, and having another baby, I completely forgot to give a shout out to the next parents-to-be.

Two good friends of ours our about to embark on a amazing journey. They will be bringing baby Laken home from Baton Rouge in the next month or so. Laken's birth mother is ready to pop! Chuck and Tim are two amazing men who are opening up their home to a new baby. Without them Laken may never have been able to experience a loving, stable, and happy home.
They will face different obsticles throughout their journey, but we all know they will handle it with grace and dignity.
Good luck to you both.
And here is to a great, wild, and memorable party, sorry, baby shower this weekend.

Babies, Babies, Everywhere

Well, I recently went to visit the latest addition to the Mossman family. That girl is a sweety. What a little doll, she just cuddles up and snoozes.
Oh God...It's happening... yep... I didn't think it could happen... but I am maybe... kinda... sorta... wanting one more.
Excuse me for a moment, I have to go wash my mouth out with soap, or probably wash my fingers off. The profanity they are creating is ashtonishing.
It's only going to get worse though. Kristin and Debbie are both going to be knocked up again. And that feeling will resurface.
It's such a hard decision. I know that if I have one more I won't regret it, but the thought of being pregnant again so soon, is scary. And the depression, yeah, that's fun to think about.
So, I don't know.
Maybe my IUD will be faulty and I won't have to make a decision.
I think that's a mature, and well thought out way to handle this situation.

The Day After

So I think that November 1 has come to be one of the most eventful, yet favorite, days in my year. Odd, I know, but walk through some of my day with me.
This is what the first day of November has done for me.

1)Reminded me that the holidays are here.
This morning I saw my first Christmas commercial of the year. I don't know what it was advertising, but it gave me a funny feeling inside. You know that feeling. The one that reminds you how much money will be exiting your bank account in the next few months. But also reminds you how you will be able to deaden that pain with gallons of egg nog, 15 days of turkey, and all the pies, cakes, and candies you can handle.

2)Allowed me to practice my counting and reading skills.
Jack Henry, Annaliese, and I got to practice these skills all day. Three times her trick-or-treating bucket, that now holds all things holy and sacred, was dumped out. And each time the holy and sacred items were returned to their position in the bucket, they were carefully iventoried. Our math and reading skills were tested as each one was counted, smelled, weighed, and put into catagories.

3) Provided me with endless entertainment.
How many different ways can a child ask (in J.H.'s case, grunt) for candy. Or go to the bathroom, as that candy makes it's way out.

4) Lastly, I was left to clean up after "The Big Day".
As Hollween comes to an end, and I have to return all the decorations to a box, I have found that they leave behind a sad reminder of their existence. A little ring or shape in the dust, telling me that I don't have to rush to dust that spot, because in just a few short weeks, a little Santa figurine will be there to cover it up.

And.....I just got a call from the Mossmans'. Welcome to the world little, make that big, Peri!!!
10lbs 3 oz and 22 inches long!!! Yeah!!!
