Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my first born! I love you girl.

I would usually write much more than this on a day my daughter becomes a year older. But...Nip/Tuck will be starting soon. Yes, I do have DVR now, but I don't like to get in on it too late. And one day, when I print off all these blogs and put them in a book, I want my daughter to be able to say, "While I wasn't more important than Nip/Tuck, at least I was important enough to get a blog entry about my birthday on the correct day, what a wonderful mother I have." And I am hoping this comment isn't made to her tatoo artist or therapist.

Bedtime

I am actually singing this.
I got a new matress. I got a new matress. Da Da Da Da Da Da.
Don and I all made a trip to Bruno's today and picked out a lovely, new, soft, matress. So long Don's-still-in-college-and-even-more-cheap-than-he-is-now matress.
And since my dear friend Krisitin (Bruno) begged them, and they have known me almost as long as they have known Kristin, they gave me the family discount. This made Don very happy. I prove to be more useful everyday!

My Car

Remind me again how much I love my car. No, really, please do. The mechanic tells me how much he loves it, but I need more. I think it knows I am mad at it, because it promised me it would wait at least another two months before needing another $944.72 worth of work.

9/11

I remember exactly where I was.
I was driving to work at Catholic Charities, no kids yet. Jack and Ron started saying that a plane just crashed into the World Trade Center in NYC. We watched it on TV all day, none of my appointments showed up.

Comments

I don't know if anyone has tried to leave a comment, but I think because I am using this beta-Blogger thing, that those with a Blogger account can't leave messages. Try being anonymous. Maybe no one has tried, but humor me and tell me that you have!

Dirty

Camille and I were pondering life's unanswered questions the other day. No, not the meaning of life, global warming, or the crisis in the Middle East. We pondered how it is that things get so dirty. We understood the obvious, like our husbands underwear, our kitchen floors, and childrens hands'. But what about the others?
Neither one of us could remember eating crackers or emptying our toasters over the silverware drawer. Yet the crumbs in the Rubbermaid holders tell a different story.
I could not remember using the top refridgerator shelf as a fondu pot, but I must have, because when I attempted to get the jelly jar out, it held on to a strong chocolate substance for dear life.
In that same refigerator I discovered that someone must be eating directly out of the vegetable drawer, because it was full of onion skins, two peices of lettuce, a baggie with the end of tomato, and the same chocolate from the top shelf.
Lastly, Camille and I both need to find a way to tell our rude and inconsiderate dogs that they need to put their hair in the trash when they groom and shake instead of leaving it in the corners and under the couch.
